The most commonly experienced type of cancer from eating red meat is colorectal cancer followed by pancreatic and then prostate.
Another concern is the risk of kidney failure. Regular consumption of red meat will make it difficult for your body to filter waste. This can lead to kidney failure. Additional threats like high blood pressure and diabetes can also become a major concern at this time, as the kidneys are unable to offset the damage these diseases are doing.
Of course, the most common disease that is caused by red meat is heart disease. The high levels of cholesterol, saturated fat, and other factors with red meat means you are more likely to experience cardiovascular conditions. In fact, those who consumed more than 75 grams of red meat daily were 1.28 times more likely to experience heart failure than other patients according to a Swedish study in 2014.
Clearly, there are health concerns that are associated with red meat. It is important for anyone who is deciding on their standard diet options to realize that red meat does pose a potential negative impact to their health. Those who are willing to overlook it and move on with other items can do so. If you must eat red meat, experts recommend that you do increase the level of fiber in your diet. This will reduce the risk of high cholesterol and can help to decrease the risk of diverticulitis and other conditions that can be associated with eating red meat.
