How Much Does a Disney World Vacation Cost in 2022 or …

How Much Does a Disney World Vacation Cost in 2022 or 2023? This breaks down Walt Disney World vacation prices for park tickets, hotels, dining, transportation & more in 2022 and 2023. It answers the question of how much visiting WDW costs to help you avoid overspending & plan within your budget. Fair warning up front: prices have increased by thousands of dollars in the last two years, so be prepared for sticker shock. (Updated July 24, 2022.) This is a tough topic to tackle. Even with hypotheticals it’s impossible to pin down the actual cost for every set of circumstances. Beyond the basics covered in our breakdown, there are a lot of variables that are beyond the scope of this post: Lightning Lanes & Genie+ v. standby only? Rental car & paid parking v. Mears Connect airport shuttle? Travel insurance v. discounted non-refundable reservations? Instead of tackling every possible scenario and ending up with a War & Peace length treatise, we’ll look at price ranges for key aspects of visiting Walt Disney World, come up with totals based on those, and let you extrapolate for your own conclusions based upon that information. Given that the thing most readers report surprise over to us via comments and emails is cost, this is a topic worth addressing, even if we can’t give any hard numbers for every possible scenario… As a blunt preface: a Walt Disney World vacation is an expensive proposition. It’s undeniable that Walt Disney World vacation costs have skyrocketed in the last decade, and that trend doesn’t seem likely to reverse itself anytime soon. To the contrary, pent-up demand, staffing shortages, inflation, and a lack of discounts mean visiting Walt Disney World is more expensive than ever. One thing that’ll be interesting is to see how this changes next year, and in which direction. If you look at 2023 Walt Disney World Resort Price Analysis, you’ll notice that room rates are up around 3-4% across the board. Given that plus food and ticket price increases, it stands to reason that base trip prices will be up around 5% year-over year. However, this overlooks a few factors. Walt Disney World has seen a significant imbalance of supply and demand for the last year-plus, which has played a significant role in driving up prices at a faster-than-normal rate. Many Americans have been making up for lost time traveling, and Walt Disney World has not been operating at 100% due to staffing shortages. As a result of that supply-demand mismatch, Walt Disney World did not need to offer aggressive discounts for much of the last year. There’s no need to entice people to visit due to pent-up demand, and there are few unsold rooms to fill because the company cannot fill every room in the first place. The tides have been starting to turn on this, with increased discounting for in the second half of 2022 and more likely on the horizon for fall and the holiday season. In addition to that, there are broader macroeconomic factors that could impact Disney and pricing in 2023. Data suggests that household savings is dwindling, consumer debt is on the rise, and equities markets are trending downward. All of this could have the effect of reducing consumer spending and pushing more people back into the workplace. This is something we’ve been discussing quite a bit, most recently in What Does Walt Disney World Do During A Recession? The odds aren’t in your favor that Disney will drop prices with all else being equal. However, it’s entirely possible that actual prices won’t be up 5% in 2023 as compared to this year due to the increased likelihood of discounts and more. (If you factor in astronomical costs of airfare…

How Much Does It Cost To Go To Disney World In 2022 – 2023?

How Much Does It Cost To Go To Disney World In 2022 – 2023? – Mouse Hacking July 18, 2022 In this post we answer a common question: How much does it cost to go to Disney World? I’m going to start with what I’ll call the “Baseline Disney World Vacation.” That’s the vacation I would go ahead and tell a first-timer to book without knowing anything about how the finances look. Then I’ll go ahead and talk about ways to increase and decrease your budget to fit your situation. Summary (2022 Visits)While I definitely encourage you to read this entire post, I’ll do you the kindness of summarizing where the three trips come out. Before you read them though—please, please understand these are jumping off points. Many items in here can be made cheaper (by deal hunting or downgrading), more expensive (by upgrading), or nicer but not much more expensive (by deal hunting and upgrading). Additionally, each of these trips is broken into line items at the end of the respective sections. Our baseline Disney World vacation for a family of four (two adults, one child 10+, one child 3-9) costs $5,731 ($287 per person per night) in 2022. This includes flights, transportation to and from Disney World, a five-night stay at Pop Century, five day tickets without park hopper, Genie+ at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, and meals at roughly the cost of the old standard Disney dining plan, which is not available for booking as of this update. For the baseline trip we also have figures for a family of three (two adults, one younger child)—$4,589, and a family of five (two adults, one older child, two younger children)—$7,045. The expensive trip is more complicated. There are a variety of ways to make your Disney World trip as expensive as you’d like. But for this summary, we’ll say that a family of four who upgrades to Wilderness Lodge, gets park hopper tickets, adds more days of Genie+ and a couple individual Lightning Lanes, and does one ticketed event OR upgrades their dining plan will spend around $8,468 ($413 per person per night). (About half that increased cost comes from the hotel upgrade.)Our budget family is more flexible. They change their trip dates to value season and downgrade their hotel to All-Star Movies. They cut the dining plan, opting instead to eat three quick service meals each day. They do only four park days, and only one day of Genie+. As a result, they get their price down to $4,347 ($217 per person per night). But a budget family that takes things a step further—cutting one day off their trip but upgrading to park hopper tickets (so they can still visit all four parks) gets their price down to $3,927 ($245 per person per night). After a quick list of recommended posts, we’ll start with the baseline trip. If you’d like to jump to the expensive trip, click here. If you’d like to jump to the budget trip, click here. Looking Ahead to 2023With 2023 right around the corner some of you are probably looking ahead to trips that year. Rather than double the word count of this post, we’re going to give you the difference in the baseline trip, with percentages, so you have an idea of what 2023 looks like compared to 2022. The bulk of this post still focuses on 2022.2023 5 Nights Pop Century — $1268 (vs. $1228 2022, +3%)2023 5 Day Base Tickets — $2167 (vs. $1988 2022, +9%)2023 2 Days Genie+ — $128 (unchanged)2023 MCO-Disney Transportation — $200 (vs. $200 in 2022)Assume flights and dining increase 3% — $2253 (vs. $2187 2022)Total Base Trip — $6016 (vs. $5731 2022, +5%) The Baseline Disney World Vacation Cost ($5,731)A baseline Disney World vacation cost for a family of four (two adults, one child 10+, one child 3-9) is $5,731 in 2022. Let’s talk about how we got that number.First, we pick our…

How Much Does a Disney Vacation Cost (2022 Edition)

How Much Does a Disney Vacation REALLY Cost (2020 Edition)? | Vacation Education How Much Does the Average Disney Vacation Cost in 2022? “A theme park is an amusement park where you pay one blanket admission fee, which is quite steep, but once you’re inside, everything is totally free, except all the other stuff you end up buying …” – Dave BarryWith all the things to do in Orlando, it’s no wonder that families from all over the world usually ask this question at least once in their lives – how much does a Disney vacation REALLY cost? Planning a trip to Central Florida for the whole family and wondering how much a Disney vacation really costs? First, it’s necessary to take a step back in time and see how Disney prices have evolved over the years. Believe it or not, when Disney’s Magic Kingdom first opened its doors at Walt Disney World Resort in 1971, the price of a general admission adult ticket was just $3.50 and a seven-ride attraction ticket book cost only $4.75. In addition, Disney World annual passes (which will now set you back a cool $999) cost a rather paltry $100 when they were first introduced in 1982 – less than the current cost of a one-day Disney ticket, which starts at $109! In fact, the skyrocketing change in one-day Magic Kingdom ticket prices over the years represents a whopping 3,014 percent increase, according to a recent study published in The Miami Herald. Note that one-day ticket prices fluctuate on a daily basis and cost even more during peak attendance times. Add to the mix costs for airfare, accommodations, dining, transportation and parking fees, as well as souvenirs and other miscellaneous expenses, and you are looking at spending a hefty amount of change on your Disney family vacation – unless you truly take the time to plan out your entire trip carefully and take advantage of affordable alternatives along the way.Indeed, the rapid rise in Disney World ticket prices has not served to deter families from all over the world from making the splurge and taking the much-anticipated pilgrimage to “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” In fact, over the past several years, Disney World has experienced record-breaking attendance numbers with an average annual attendance of nearly 58 million visitors! Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is by far the most popular theme park at Disney World with nearly 21 million visitors (making it the most-visited theme park in the world), followed by Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios – each of which average between 11 and 13 million visitors annually. By the way, international tourists comprise between 18 and 22 percent of total attendance at Disney World, with Brazilian visitors driving much of the new growth, according to a recent article in The Orlando Sentinel. The least expensive (and least crowded) times to visit Walt Disney World Resort fall upon dates when kids are traditionally back in school: early January through early February, late April, late August to late September and mid-October. The costliest (and busiest) times to visit Disney World include Spring Break/Easter in late March and early April, Memorial Day weekend, Thanksgiving week and the Christmas holidays through New Year’s Day. Breaking Down The Cost Your Disney Vacation Itinerary One reason that Walt Disney World Resort can justify its regular price hikes is the constant addition of new theme parks and attractions over the past nearly 50 years. For example, Disney World opened in 1971 with one theme park, two onsite resorts, a campground and an 18-hole golf course. Today, Disney encompasses nearly 40 square miles and boasts four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom), two water parks (Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon), the massive Disney Springs entertainment-shopping-dining complex, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, four championship golf courses and 41 on-property resorts. In addition, Disney has added a slew of new attractions recently at each of its theme parks to attract new and returning guests such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (home to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance) and…
